kicked off health-insurance company earnings on Friday by sharing positive updates on membership growth for 2023 and delivering a largely upbeat quarterly report.

People served by the company’s UnitedHealthcare U.S. segment grew by over 1.2 million last year, and the company expects another million plus for 2023. “Frankly…I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we didn’t exceed ’22 numbers,” said UnitedHealth CEO Andrew Philip Witty during a call discussing earnings.
